These birds locked in a pretty gilded cage speak to us of our human condition, always caught between confinement and the desire for freedom.

It’s up to each of us to choose our own way up, our own liberation, and the reasons why we can’t fly or be ourselves. The artist builds an unstable, ephemeral structure at the top of which, at last, the bird has freed itself from its bars.
